FIRE crews were called out to tackle a large grass fire at Lymm and an outbuilding fire at Padgate on Saturday afternoon.
AT 14:35 crews were called to reports of a grass fire off Grammar School Road, Lymm.
Fire engines from Birchwood, Warrington, and Greater Manchester, were supported by a Rapid Response Rescue Unit from Poynton using specialist wildfire firefighting capability to control the fire and extinguish hotspots.
Crews attended the large grass fire measuring approximately 200m x 50m in size and used two hose reel jets, one main jet, and beaters to extinguish the fire.
Earlier at 13:00 one crew from Warrington was called to an outbuilding fire in the rear garden of a property at Westover Road, Padgate, Warrington.
On arrival, the crew discovered a shed, fence panel, and wheelie bin alight.
One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire, and a thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the interior of the house.
An inspection of the property also found damage to a uPVC door and window.
