Fire crews tackle suspected arson attack on disused pub and accidental garden shed fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a suspected arson attack on a disused pub during the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after 4:30 am one crew from Warrington was called out to the former Jolly Falstaff pub in Blackbrook Square, Warrington

It appeared that The door to a disused pub had deliberately been set on fire. The crew used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and asked police to attend.

Later in the day, shortly before 3pm a crew was called to a garden shed fire on Farrell Street, Warrington.
The shed and some six feet of garden fencing were well alight. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to douse the blaze. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, from a carelessly discarded cigarette.
