Following on from the previous two days, police have had reports of several groups of youths going into the water at the Ship Canal and River Mersey.

Dealing with this behavior prevents officers from dealing with crimes, while youngsters are at risk of drowning or coming down with gastroenteritis or E. Coli, and putting even more strain on the NHS.

As well as appealing to parents to educate their children police are also appealing to local youngsters to use a swimming pool.
Cheshire Fire & Rescue have been issuing warnings against swimming in open waters throughout the recent warm weather.
