Latchford’s top four ambitions given a knock

1

LATCHFORD Albion made the long journey to Heysham – but came away empty handed with a 26-18 scoreline denting their top four ambitions.
The first half belonged to Albion, with tries from Charlie McCurrie, Reece Hughes and Rob Marsh, all converted by Matty Rudd (pictured) putting the visitors in control at the break leading 6 – 18.
The opening stages of the second were close but Latchford were hit with a purple patch from the hosts when three converted tries saw the momentum switch to Heysham who led 24 – 18 at the hour stage.
Despite plenty of pressure, the visitors could not find a way through a resolute home defence, and frustration began to creep in, leading to a Heysham penalty on 75 minutes which was duly converted to put the game out of Albion’s reach and the final score ending 26 – 18.
This Saturday sees Latchford on their travels again, making the trip to Blackbrook, kick off 2.30pm
