Council confirm six weeks road closure for ongoing Heritage Area works at Grappenhall

SIX weeks of road closures have been confirmed in historic Grappenhall village for ongoing Heritage Area reconstructing and cobbled relaying of the road surface.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving and clearway on Church Lane from its junction with Broad Lane to its junction with Glebe Avenue.

The Order will be effective from 25th July 2022 for six weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Church Lane, A56 Chester Road, A50 Knutsford Road, Bellhouse Lane and vice versa or via Broad Lane, Grappenhall Lane, A50 Cliff Lane, A50 Knutsford Road, Bellhouse Lane and vice versa.

The restrictions are required to allow continuing works to Heritage Area reconstructing and relaying cobbled road surface, including work to improve drainage.
