Armed officers and police helicopter involved as man arrested following road rage incident at Woolston

ARMED officers and the police were involved as a 34-year-old man was arrested hiding in a garden following an alleged road rage incident at Woolston, Warrington, yesterday, Monday.

At around 5.40 pm on Monday 11 July police were called to reports of a road rage incident on Woolston Grange Avenue, Warrington.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “The caller reported that their vehicle was being attacked by a man, possibly armed with a knife.

“Local officers, supported by the police helicopter and firearms unit, were deployed to the scene and, following a search of the area, a 34-year-old-man was located hidden in a garden on Inspector Avenue.
“The man was arrested on suspicion of affray, driving without due care and attention, assaulting an emergency services worker, drug driving and possession with intent to supply class A drugs, he is currently in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.”
