Road closed as fire crews tackle house fire at Orford

TWO fire crews were called out yesterday afternoon to tackle a fire involving the side of a house at Orford, Warrington.

Crews from Birchwood and Stockton Heath attended at the property on Smith Drive, Orford, shortly before 4 pm

Police closed the road while the incident was being dealt with as firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel. The loft space of the house was checked with a thermal imaging camera and everyone was out of the property on the arrival of firefighters.

The fire is believed to have been started by a nearby chiminea. Crews were there for approximately one hour.
