New board formed at Rylands to help club push on

IT’S certainly exciting times at Warrington Rylands FC.  As the club prepares for life in the Northern Premier League they have announced the formation of a new board that will help steer the club as they operate at the highest level in their long history.

Club owners, Chairman Mark Pye and Club Secretary, Tony Bennett were pleased to announce that local business owners, Andy Greenwood, Steve Lewis and Andy Hibbert would not only be investing in the club but also taking active roles on the newly formed board.

‘What we have achieved over the last 6 years has been amazing’ Said Mark Pye, ‘It’s been an unbelievable journey that’s taken a lot of blood sweat and tears from everyone involved at the club, but it’s now time to bring in some trusted support that has a different skill set to help the club push on’.

Both Mark and Tony are delighted with the new appointments and it was vital for them that it was Warrington people who were getting involved.  Andy Greenwood, Managing Director of Knox & Son Funeral Directors, has been a long term sponsor of the club, an association that stretches back over 20 years. ‘It’s an absolute pleasure to be part of this board after being a supporter and sponsor of the club for so long, there’s lots to do but we’re going to have some fun along the way’ said Andy.

Andy Hibbert and Steve Lewis, owners of iSupply Group and real5 Group have a long history with supporting local grassroots sports.  Steve commented ‘It’s a huge part of our ethos to be involved with local community sports teams and something we’ve done for a while, this opportunity to help drive the club as far as it can go is a challenge we’re going to relish’.

There is a long term friendship that sits behind the creation of the board in Mark and Andy Hibbert, ‘We played football together from the age of 8 at Appleton Boys’ commented Andy, ‘After being involved as a sponsor and knowing Mark so well, it was a no brainer for us to get involved and help continue this amazing journey’.

With the new board now in place there is a focus and drive to ensure the success of the club as a whole, from the junior section right through to the first team.  With some exciting pre-season friendlies lined up with the likes of Salford FC and plenty of new signings already in the bag it promises to be an exciting season ahead for Warrington Rylands FC both on and off the pitch.
