The Great Sankey High School Pupils assisted officers earlier this afternoon after a knife was discovered near the school.

Praising the youngsters local PCSO Flanagan said: “By working together we managed to get another knife off our streets and out of the hands of the wrong person.”

Meanwhile, if anyone comes across any knives in the future please call the police on 101 and help make our communities a safer place.

The knife find comes after a week-long knife surrender campaign by Cheshire Police across Warrington, that resulted in hundreds of dangerous knives and weapons being handed in.
