WITH the deadline looming hundreds of businesses across Warrington have yet to claim their share of over £5m of financial help with business rates from the COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund.

The Covid-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF) could pay 20% of your Business Rates bills for last year – and can also be used to offset the 2022-23 outstanding business rates liability.

The scheme cannot award relief to businesses who would have been eligible for the Extended Retail Discount (covering Retail, Hospitality and Leisure) nor the Nursery Discount and is only be awarded for occupied premises.

If you think your business may be eligible please apply online warrington.gov.uk/business-support-coronavirus-update

Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Innovation, Cllr Tom Jennings, said: “We know what a big difference COVID support funding is making to our businesses and we are working really hard to administer every single penny as quickly as possible. Time is running out for businesses to apply for the CARF funding so if you think you are eligible please get your application in as soon as possible.”
