WARRINGTON South MP Andy Carter has thanked local businesses for their support following a successful Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair at the town’s Parr Hall.

The bustling event last Friday saw around 1,000 local people in attendance either looking to change jobs or get back into work, seeking advice on apprenticeships and training opportunities, and students considering their future career paths.

The day showcased more than 40 local employers ranging from engineering, construction, tourism, logistics, health and social care, education, energy, police and fire, the Civil Service and more. On offer were hundreds of jobs from local businesses seeking to recruit, along with plenty of information on apprenticeships taking place in Warrington.

Speaking after the Jobs Fair, Andy Carter MP said: “I’m very happy to see so many people coming to the Jobs Fair. People were queuing to get in at 10am and many more arrived throughout the day. We’ve seen loads of people dropping off their CVs and job offers made, as well as young people here considering their next steps after education.

“One of the main reasons I went into politics was to help make opportunities available for everyone, regardless of where they’re from or their background. It’s always been my firm belief that finding a fulfilling and worthwhile career can be life-changing for people, and I’m so glad that the Jobs Fair we’ve put on has given local people here in Warrington a look at what career paths are available to them.

“I want to thank everyone who came along and helped make the day a tremendous success, it was great to meet with so many local people and employers who attended. I truly hope the fantastic response to our Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair will lead to it becoming an annual event here in Warrington.”
