FIRE crews were called out to tackle several fires in the open last night, including a fire deliberately started in the Dingle at Appleton.
Shortly after midnight one crew from Stockton Heath was called out to Dingle Lane, Appleton, following reports of a fire in woodland.
Firefighters were called to extinguish the small fire in the wooded area and used water to do this.
Earlier, shortly before 10.30 pm one crew from Warrington was called out to Statham Avenue, Orford.
A small fire that was set on open land was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel.
Earlier at 9.35 pm one crew from Birchwood was called to Hughes Place, Warrington, involving a small fire in a back garden, that was controlled but concerns that it may get out of control were raised.
The crew attended and gave advice to the occupier.
Deliberate fires affect our ability to respond to serious incidents, and cause long-term damage to our communities.
Warrington Fire have attended an increasing number of deliberate fires over the Easter Weekend.
