TWO people were given oxygen and taken to hospital at Warrington early today after a house fire.

Fire engines from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Lymm went to the house fire in Kings Road, Fearnhead, shortly after 1am.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire in the kitchen.

A specialist ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the property.

The crews were at the scene for about two hours and gave the two casualties oxygen before they were taken to hospital.
