Two more COVID-19 related deaths as hospital inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise

TWO more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend, with infection rates continuing to rise with another 724 new cases since Friday.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have risen again from 85-92 since Friday, while 27 more patients were discharged over the weekend.

A total of 724 new COVID-19 cases have also been reported in the town since Friday.

Current inpatients as of Monday, March 28, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 92 (85) including 0 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 587 – 280.4 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 245.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 655 – 312.8 per 100,000.

There have been 1,904 (1,887) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including another 724 new cases since Friday, taking the total to 72,988 (72,264) and an infection rate of 917.9 (884) per 100,000 which has risen again, with the national rate at 901.8 (877.8), which has also risen again.
