Firefighters tackle blaze at Fiddler’s Ferry

FIREFIGHTERS from Penketh were called to a blaze involving an area of scrubland behind the Fiddlers Ferry Power Station at Cuerdley
Because of difficulty in accessing the site, it was not possible to use a hose reel jet to tackle the blaze so the crew used a water backpack extinguisher and beater to extinguish the fire on Sunday afternoon.
The cause of the fire, off Widnes Road, has not been revealed
