Bruce Grobbelaar shows support for grassroots football at The Village Club FC

FOOTBALLING legend Bruce Grobbelaar, the Liverpool & Zimbabwean goalkeeper was guest speaker at The Village Club FC annual Sportsman’s Dinner held at the Village Club, Wigshaw Lane, Culcheth recently.

Warren Bibby from The Village Club commented that the night was a brilliant success and a complete sell-out.

Bruce (5th from the right above)) told some highly entertaining stories from his football past and was a real hit with the audience; and there was even had a special guest appearance on the night from Chris Hall, sports presenter at Granada TV.

All funds raised from our event will help in supporting and maintaining grassroots football at the club. The football club would like to thank all of their wonderful sponsors and everyone who attended the event for their kind generosity and ongoing support and it is very much appreciated.

It was a double success for The Village Club FC as they beat Mill Hill FC from Blackburn in the semi Final of The Lancashire Cup in front of a very large crowd at Chorley Football Club.

They will now play the winners from Whalley Range (Manchester) v Feniscowles & Pleasington FC (Blackburn) in the Lancashire Cup Final to be played at Lancashire Football Associations County Ground, Leyland on Wednesday 13th April 2022 kick-off at 7:30pm.
