RESIDENTS and businesses from across Warrington and Cheshire are being urged to help promote the county and everything it has to offer this Cheshire Day.

On March 30 every year, the county celebrates all things Cheshire because on 30 March 1300, two days after the final reissue of the Magna Carta, King Edward I confirmed a charter of liberties for Cheshire.

Cheshire Day is all about raising the profile of Cheshire and as many businesses and residents are being encouraged to celebrate the day and help to promote what is going on.

This year Cheshire Day is a part of Marketing Cheshire’s campaign to welcome families of all shapes and sizes to Cheshire, highlighting local family-run and family-friendly businesses. By going out and supporting and exploring locally this Cheshire Day, residents can help create this warm welcome.

The day is especially important this year after two years where many families haven’t been able to get together and haven’t been able to get out enjoy, support and celebrate the great businesses and attractions Cheshire has to offer.

Residents can support the day simply by heading out to a Cheshire business and shouting about it online.

Businesses themselves are being urged to get involved by putting on a Cheshire Day offer, creating a Cheshire Day product or hosting a Cheshire Day event.

Nicola Said, Commercial Director for Marketing Cheshire, said: “Everyone across Cheshire already knows how great our county is, and Cheshire Day is our chance to shout about it.

“We want to get as many businesses and people involved so we can really show what we have to offer and have a good time in the process. There are so many amazing, local family-run businesses right across Cheshire and I’d urge everyone to get out and visit one – maybe one that you’ve always wanted to give a go but just haven’t got round to.

“There are so many great businesses – shops on local high street, world-class visitor attractions, hotels and B and Bs, restaurants and bars – across Cheshire so there’s plenty for everyone to choose from.

“For our businesses it’s easy to get involved by thinking about an offer, an event or even a new product to mark the occasion to help show how special Cheshire is.”
