TO help celebrate International Women’s Day, Warrington Wolves is on the lookout for new players to join one of the fastest-growing clubs in the country, with more than 240 players involved in eight teams.

The community club – which is run by the Warrington Wolves Foundation – is appealing for more players to come along and join its Under-11s, Under-13s, Under-14s, Under-16s and Open Age teams.

Wolves’ co-captain Armani Sharrock said: “Rugby League is not just a game – it becomes part of who you are and I genuinely believe it’s the most accessible sport for women and girls to participate in and feel part of something even bigger.

“Warrington Wolves has such a great history and is so invested in making women part of that going forward. We have such a diverse group across the women’s and girls’ section and there are opportunities for those of all abilities to take part, enjoy Rugby League and fall in love with the game.

“Rugby League forces you to question your limits, challenge yourself and become the best version of you for yourself and your teammates.”

With fixtures starting this weekend, training for the Under-11s, Under-13s and Under-14s takes place on Fridays and the Under-16s and Open Age on Mondays at Victoria Park, Warrington.
