Council confirm Padgate Lane road closure

WARRINGTON Borough Council has confirmed a two-week road closure on Padgate Lane starting next Monday, while utility works take place for a new housing development in the area.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Padgate Lane (northbound traffic) from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Marsh House Lane.

The Order will be effective from 7th March 2022 for two weeks, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Manchester Road, King Edward Street and Padgate Lane or via Manchester Road, Battersby Lane, Marsh House Lane and Padgate Lane.

The closure is required to allow for Utility connections to be carried out to the new development.
