FIREFIGHTERS led a casualty suffering from smoke inhalation to safety following a kitchen fire at Appleton earlier today.

The kitchen fire shortly before 3pm at a property on Chessington Close, Appleton, caused smoke logging to a house.

Firefighters, two in breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out and damp down the fire, and a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke.

One casualty was escorted out of the property and treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
