POLICE were called out last night after vandals started a fire on open land off Wellfield Street, Warrington.
The blaze, which involved a quantity of rubbish, was in a field at the rear of Evelyn Street Primary School and firefighters believed it had been started deliberately.
There was no damage to the property.
A crew from Warrington Fire Station extinguished the fire using hand appliances.
Anyone with information should report it to police via 101.
