New digital platform for youths launched

THIS Valentine’s Day sees the launch of a new digital platform that’s bound to be loved by the children and young people across Warrington.

YOOF is a brand new safe online platform for children and young people broadcasting engaging peer to peer, age relatable content.

YOOF is for every young person including those who feel isolated or struggle with their mental health.

The platform shares video posts generated by members from organisations that also has a link back to the organisation for anyone wanting to know more about the creators.

Organisations are asked to create content to share on the platform, which can be accessed by each YOOF user across Warrington and Cheshire. The platform encourages safe social media practices with an emphasis on a safe environment for it’s users. Unlike most social platforms YOOF does not allow comments on content or directly messaging.

“YOOF was a realy exciting idea that’s turned into a fascinating project. Content sharing sometimes doesn’t reach past your own traditional base so this is a real coup for Warrington and Cheshire organizations and their young people to get onboard and access YOOF. Coming at a time where engaging with children and young people about mental health and wellbeing after what we’ve been through is essential. With the content also created by the audience each of the YOOF members have a way to shape the platform.” Said Dave Ditchfield from Warringtons Youth Zone who is leading the project

The digital platform is inviting organisations and groups across Warrington & Cheshire who work with children aged 7-11, young people aged 12-17 or adults up to 25 with special education to join the platform and bring their audience onboard.

YOOF will allow organisations to expand their reach and support even young people digitally, sharing content which is age appropriate and easy to access. Organisations can also share their events or live session on the platform too.

Joining YOOF allows organisations to challenge their current digital footprint by creating a safe space for their content to be viewed by their audience.

The YOOF platform is a free to organisations and their members and is proudly supported by Assura Community Fund and Cheshire Community Foundation.

Join the conversation at www.yoof.group and across main social media platforms.
