Lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since mid-September as infection rates continue to fall

A total of 92 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the latest daily data – the lowest number since mid-September.

A total of 92 (100) COVID-19 cases were reported by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases recorded in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 65,902 (65,809).

Infection rate figures over a seven-day period have fallen slightly again to 1,163 (1,226) – 555.4 (585.5) per 100,000 population and remain below the national average of 715.2 (751.8) per 100,000 which continue to fall.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 574 (573) 274.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 237.9.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 640 (638) 305.6.
