POLICE are clamping down on motorists who cause parking obstructions at Lymm Dam and a local primary school in the village.

Numerous fixed penalty notices for causing an unnecessary obstruction for parking on the zigzags at Lymm Dam have been issued in recent weeks.

A Fixed penalty notice was also issued to a vehicle parked near Oughtrington Primary School after many complaints about parking in the area.

Please are asking motorists to keep pavements clear especially crossings and sensory pavements.

They are also urging drivers not to sit in their vehicle with the engine running.

Police warned on social media:”We will continue to work with Oughtrington Primary School to deal with these issues.”

Officers have also been involved in several speed enforcement campaigns in the village in recent weeks targeting Higher Lane, Mill Lane, Rushe Green Road, Booths Hill Road, Birchbrook Road and Warrington Road, where the highest activation was 45 mph in a 3omph zone.
