Concerns grow for Warrington man still missing after two weeks

POLICE today reissued their appeal for information about a Warrington man who has not been seen for two-weeks.
Adam Smith, from Great Sankey, was last sighted on Friends Lane at approximately 3.15pm on Thursday January 27.
He is described as white, around 5’ 9” tall, of proportionate build with short brown hair, brown eyes and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue coat and grey tracksuit trousers with a black stripe down the leg.
Despite extensive searches and enquiries by police who have worked closely with National Police Air Support and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service there have been no confirmed sightings of the 31-year-old since he was reported missing.
Detective Sergeant Joe McNally, from Warrington local policing unit, said: “It’s now two weeks since Adam was last seen and despite working round the clock to establish where he might be we’re yet to have a confirmed sighting of him from the day he went missing.
“It is completely out of character for Adam not to have been in contact with his family especially when it was his birthday last Sunday. As you can understand it is a very difficult time for his family and as the weeks go by the concerns from those close to him, and from our officers looking for him, increases greatly.
“At this stage we can’t be sure if he has left Warrington or is still in the area he was last seen but we do know he has links to St Helens, Huyton and Knowsley. We are therefore relying on members of the public to get in touch if they believe they may have seen him or know where he could be.
“If Adam is reading this I want to make it clear to him that he is not in any trouble and all we and his family want to know is that he is safe and well.
“I also want to reassure anyone who he may be staying with, or who may know where he is living, that they are not in trouble and I encourage you to get in touch. If you don’t feel comfortable reporting it to police then you can do it anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“I still want to encourage residents to check their outbuildings and sheds and to contact police if it appears someone may have been staying there or items have gone missing.
“In the meantime our searches will continue and we will act on any information that is reported to us.”
Anyone who does see Adam is asked not to approach him but to instead call Cheshire Constabulary immediately on 999.
