WARRINGTON Rylands didn’t hang around, opening the scoring in their demolition of Colne in just 26 seconds last night.

Andy Scarisbrick danced his way through the Cone team on a mazy run which ended with him shooting from just outside the area. Bouncing just in front of Sam Waller the ball reared up off the pitch and over keeper’s shoulder into the back of the net.

With play switching from end to end, Rylands goalkeeper Graeme McCall saved well to prevent Kingsley Williams from equalising. While at the other end, Waller, a loanee from Burnley on debut, partially redeemed himself with good saves to deny Scarisbrick and debutant Johnny Hunt.

However, in the 29th minute, he slipped under a high diagonal ball from Callum Dolan allowing Scarisbrick to turn the ball into an empty net from close range.

Rylands took their time opening the second-half scoring, waiting until the 48th minute before scoring their third.

Scarisbrick turned provider as a sweeping passing move transferred the ball from right to left, his pass found Hunt who cut inside before shoot low past Waller to mark his first appearance with a goal.

Despite being three goals down, Colne enjoyed their best spell of the game when an Elliott Rokka free-kick was headed over the bar by a Rylands defender. Oli Roberts had a shot pushed round the post by McCall who also clawed away a header from Louis Myers.

However in the 63rd minute, winning the ball on the edge of the area Scarisbrick completed his hat-trick with a firm driven shot.

In the 83rd minute Jack Tinning picked up a loose ball in the Colne half, taking it forward he clipped the ball over Waller to register his first goal for the club. Two minutes later Matty Hughes did the same smashing home from the penalty spot after Kane Drummond had been tripped from behind.
