Another COVID-19 related death although infection rates return to downward trend

ANOTHER COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital where inpatient numbers have increased for a third consecutive day, although infection rates have fallen again after yesterday’s brief rise.

A total of 143 (187) COVID-19 cases were reported by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases recorded in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 65,435 (65,292).

Infection rate figures over a seven-day period have fallen again after yesterday’s slight rise to 1,444 (1,481) – 689.6 (707.3) per 100,000 population and remain below the national average of 833.7 (864.1) per 100,000.

While one more death has been reported since yesterday, inpatient numbers have also risen again slightly from 57-58 including two in ICU while 13 patients have been discharged.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 572 (571) 273.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 237.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 640 (638) 305.6.
