TWO fire crews were called out during the early hours of this morning to tackle an outbuilding fire next to a semi-detached property at Winwick, Warrington.
Crews from Warrington and Greater Manchester were alerted shortly after 4am following reports of a fire in an outbuilding next to a semi-detached bungalow in Gerosa Avenue, Hermitage Green, Winwick.
The occupants were accounted for and assessed by paramedics as a precaution.
The crews wore breathing apparatus while tackling the fire with two hose reels.
They used cutting equipment and lighting gear to assist them.
Once the fire was extinguished they used a large fan to clear the smoke.
Don’t leave appliances such as dishwashers, tumble dryers and washing machines on when you are out or asleep. In the UK, house fires involving white goods happen almost every day.
