Three fire crews tackle outbuilding fire at Orford

THREE fire crews were called out to tackle an outbuilding fire at a property in Orford, Warrington on New Year’s Eve.

Shortly after 11.30 pm crews from Warrington, Lymm and Penketh were called to an outbuilding fire at a house in Chiltern Crescent.

Wearing breathing apparatus they used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

The crews isolated the electric supply and used a large fan to clear smoke.

They then used a thermal imaging camera to make sure the fire had not spread to the house or neighbouring property.

They were at the scene for more than two hours. There were no reports of any injuries.

In another incident, Shortly after 12pm on new Year’s day firefighters were called to reports of a garage fire in Blackburne Close, Warrington.

The fire was out on arrival, but the crew used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots, isolated the utility supply and ventilated the property.

The incident was left in the care of an electrical engineer.
