Firefighters tackle chimney fire in outdoor bar and Land Rover blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called out on Christmas Day evening to tackle a chimney fire involving a log burning in an outdoor bar at a property in Padgate, Warrington.

Shortly before 6.30pm firefighters from Birchwood were called to reports of a fire at an address on Green Lane, Warrington.

On arrival, the crew found a chimney fire involving a log burning in an outdoor bar.

The crew used specialist chimney rods to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.

Firefighters were detained at the scene for around one hour.

In another incident firefighters from Warrington were called out to a vehicle fire outside a property at Great Sankey on Christmas Eve.

One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish a Land Rover which was well alight outside an address on Cromwell Avenue, Great Sankey.

The crew was detained at the scene for around 40 minutes.
