Police issue warning after early morning collisions

POLICE issued a warning to motorists to take care on slippery roads following two collisions during the early hours of ths morning, involving a car colliding with a fence at Winwick and a motorcyclist and a van on the A50.

Shortly after 2am police were flagged down by a member of the public after a car collided with a fence on Golborne Road at Winwick.
Police said luckily only the car and a fence were damaged and that the occupants were extremely lucky to escape with no injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 2.12am this morning, Wednesday, officers on patrol in Winwick were flagged down by a member of the public who reported a collision on Golborne Road.
“Officers attended and found that a Ford Kuga had collided with a fence.
“There were no reports of any injuries and the vehicle has since been recovered.”

Meanwhile at around 5:40 am there was a collision involving a motorcycle and a van on the A50 Orford Road between the A574 Birchwood Way and Syers Court, eastbound. The road was partially blocked but has since re-opened.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with an arm injury.

Following the collisions, police issued a warning advising motorists to take care on slippery roads.
