PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have approved refurbishment of the Victoria Park Arena grandstand – including provision of a new lift to the upper parts of the grandstand.
The scheme will also include an extension to the existing toilet block.
Members of Warrington Borough Council’s development management committee were told the existing toilet facilities would be expanded in the space between the toilets and the main grandstand building.
The lift would be added on the northern side of the building, replacing an existing lift that had become redundant.
Planning officers said overall the proposals would improve a community asset and would have no significant impact on the character of the year or upon nearby residential areas.
