Fire crews attend four vehicle collision on M62 near Winwick

FIRE crews were called out to a four-vehicle collision on the M62 near Winwick yesterday evening, providing basic first aid to one of the motorists.

The collision took place on M62 westbound between junctions 9 and 10 shortly before 5.15pm.

Two fire engines attended from Birchwood and Lymm. On arrival the crews found there had been a collision between three saloon cars and a van.

The crews helped to move all of the vehicles over to the hard shoulder, they also provided basic first aid to one of the motorists.

Firefighters were detained at the scene for around one hour.
