FIRE crews were kept busy last night tackling various blazes including a large bonfire on business premises at Winwick Quay, Warrington.
Shortly after 17:30 firefighters from Penketh were called to a large bonfire at a business in Calver Park Road, which was too close to the road.
The crews used two hose reel jets to put out the fire and two hose reels to dampen down the rubbish. They used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature to ensure it didn’t reignite.
Then at 18:32 firefighters from Penketh were called to a mattress well alight in a field in Bentham Avenue, Warrington.
The crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
At 19:01 one fire engine from Birchwood was called to a wheelie bin on fire on a park in Merewood Close, Orford.
The crew used a water backpack to put out the fire.
Then at 20:40 firefighters from Lymm were called to a large skip smouldering in Brookfield Road, Lymm.
The crew used a hose reel to put out the fire.
