A CHARITY is asking Warrington’s “amazing local community” to help them make sure hard-up families don’t go short at Christmas.

St Joseph’s Family Centre, in Museum Street, Warrington, is appealing for donations for supermarket vouchers which they will distribute to local families experiencing extreme financial difficulties.
Last year, St Joseph’s helped 259 families, including 649 children have a better Christmas.
Centre manager Rosanna Kyme-Wright, said: “With the impact of the pandemic affecting jobs, Universal Credit reducing and the ever increasing costs to living, times are proving really hard for some of our families.
“Therefore, this year, we want to give the families referred to us a small hamper of non-perishable food and other useful items, plus a supermarket voucher to go towards fresh produce and small gifts for their children. The vouchers can really help families keep a sense of pride by being able to choose and purchase items for themselves.
“We need the help of our amazing local community to raise money for the vouchers and we only have a few weeks to do it in. Can you help?
“We do not want anyone to go without, and sincerely appreciate any donations our local community can give.”
St Joseph’s have set up a dedicated fundraising page for donations towards the supermarket vouchers – https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/18286
But they can also accept cash, cheques and card payments at the Museum Street centre.
