PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have thrown out applications for three mobile ‘phone masts across the borough – but granted permission for two others.

The three proposals refused were in High Legh Road, Broomedge, Lymm, Longwood Road, Dudlow Green Road, Appleton and Liverpool Road, Great Sankey.

There were objections from Lymm Parish Council and three local residents, Appleton Parish Council, 13 local residents and two local borough councillors, and one member of the public at Great Sankey.
The two scheme approved were at Yew Tree Farm, Bold Lane, Burtonwood where seven objections were received and Gainsborough Road, Warrington.
The majority of the objections related to the impact of the visual impact of the masts on the local area.
Hutchison Networks claimed there was a requirement to provide to upgrade their network to provide improved coverage and capacity, mostly in relation to 5G services.
They also claimed to have considered a number of alternative locations in the area but they had been discounted because they were close to residential properties or had an impact on highways.
