AN overheating tumble dryer is believed to have started a fire at a property in Stockton Heath, Warrington, earlier today Sunday.
Shortly before 10.30 am firefighters received a report of a house being full of smoke on Belvoir Road in Warrington.
Two fire engines attended, from Middlewich and Birchwood and discovered a fire on the ground floor of the property. No one was unaccounted for.
The gas and electricity supplies to the property were isolated and four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus began fighting the fire.
Two hose reel jets were used, and a covering jet was set up.
Once the fire was out a large fan was used to clear the house of smoke. A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots.
Firefighters left the address once they were satisfied that it was safe. They were in attendance for less than an hour-and-a-half.
No one is believed to have been harmed as a result of the fire.
The fire is believed to have stemmed from a tumble dryer.
