UPDATED: AS the Creamfields music festival gets underway police apprehended a 20-year-old man attempting to bring the potentially deadly ecstasy “Tesla – MDMA” pills into the site.
A Cheshire police spokesperson said: “At 12pm on 26 August, a 20-year-old man was found to have items in his possession which were suspected to be MDMA Tesla, but this hasn’t been confirmed and enquiries are ongoing.
“The man has been told to voluntarily appear at a police station at a later date to be interviewed under caution.
Meanwhile officers are warning festival-goers to be very careful with anything they are offered and if anyone starts to feel unwell they should immediately attend the First Aid on site.
Last week police warned festival-goers of deadly MDMA drugs believed to be in circulation as they stepped up security on site ahead of the festival.
Cheshire Police had been alerted about the dangerous MDMA tablets, which are believed to be responsible for two UK deaths.
We have just arrested a suspect for attempting to bring the "Tesla – MDMA" pills we warned about earlier this week into the site
Please be very careful with anything you are offered and if you start to feel unwell make immediately to the First Aid on site
