POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Warrington town centre earlier today, Thursday, which left a woman in her 70s with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The collision at the junction of Liverpool Road, Sankey Street, Parker Street and Crosfield Street involved a red Peugeot 207 car that happened shortly after 1pm.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and road closures were in place while emergency services attended at the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at 1.04pm to the junction of Crosfield Street and Liverpool Road, Warrington following reports of a collision involving a female pedestrian and a red Peugeot 207.
“The woman, aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries – the driver of the Peugeot, a man, stopped at the scene.
“Road closures were in place around the area.”
