Fit To Tackle Programme set to return to Halliwell Jones Stadium

LiveWire’s popular Fit To Tackle weight loss programme is returning to the Halliwell Jones Stadium thanks to new funding from Public Health Warrington.

In March 2021, the government announced funding from 2021 to 2022 to support people living with excess weight and obesity to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The new funding granted is specifically to help men lose weight and means Fit To Tackle will deliver a men’s only programme over the next 12 months. LiveWire is excited to have Warrington Wolves RLFC as an integral partner to the programme this year and the sessions will return to Halliwell Jones Stadium.
The new Fit To Tackle programme will start Monday 6th September at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, running every Monday and Wednesday at 6pm. Those taking part are also offered nutrition advice and guidance from the Fit To Tackle coaches and volunteer mentors.
Anyone interested in losing weight is also encouraged to contact LiveWire for more information on its free weight management service – which is open to everyone.
Tom Kearney, LiveWire Lifestyles Advisor and Fit To Tackle Coach, said: “Applications are now open for our next programme starting Monday 6th September. We are expecting another high volume amount of applicants as we do each time, so I would encourage people to get their application in sooner rather than later to be in with a chance of getting on this amazing – and fun – weight loss programme! It’s hard work but genuinely life-changing for many people who take part.”
