Police issue dispersal order as drunken and aggressive teenagers gather at Woolston Park

1

POLICE issued a dispersal order at Woolston Park last night due to reports of a large number of youths from across Warrington drinking, causing criminal damage and being aggressive to members of the public and officers.

The dispersal order is in place until late 18/08/2021, and police are urging parents to tell their teenage children to avoid Woolston Park.

Parents are also being asked to educate their children on the correct way to behave in public spaces and make sure they know where their children are going before they leave the house.
Many of the youths officers spoke to at Woolston Park came from Great Sankey, Penketh and Stockton Heath. Most were aged between 14-16.
There has also been evidence of celebrations around the parks since last week’s GCSE results, including discarded used nitrous oxide canisters and balloons. Inhaling the gas from these silver canisters using balloons is not a legitimate use for nitrous oxide canisters. FRANK explains some of the risks – to health and the law.
Anyone with information about the individuals involved with the supply of nitrous oxide canisters to be inhaled should pass this information to police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.

  1. There. seems to be no action to address the root cause of the problem. They simply gather in another part of town and carry on their drunken and threatening behaviour. Time some real punishment was doled out as a deterrent. The situation is getting worse every year. Maybe the current PCC could give it some attention and do something about it, unlike the last who paid it lip service.
