Four casualties escape with minor injuries following M6 collision involving lorry and a car

UPDATED: FOUR casualties escaped with minor injuries following a collision involving a lorry and a car which caused lengthy delays on the M6 southbound this morning.

Five fire engines, police and ambulance attended the scene. The four casualties involved escaped with minor injuries and three were taken to hospital further treatment.

Drivers faced delays of around 90 minutes on the approach to the collision on the southbound carriageway with three lanes are closed between junction 19 for Knutsford and junction 18 for Middlewich.



Highways England reported seven miles of congestion approaching the crash.
Shortly after 7am Two fire engines attended, one from Lymm and one from Middlewich following reports of a collision involving a HGV and a car on the M6 southbound between junction 19 to junction 18.
On arrival, the crews administered first aid to three people and used cutting equipment to remove the doors of the car for ease of access.
All lanes were shut for a short period of time.
The crews then made the scene safe.
