STUDENTS at Lymm High School were jumping for joy in the sun this morning as they celebrated some stunning successes in their GCSE results.

Right at the top of the tree were Rachel Beattie, Steph Burnett and Alisha Bushnell, all three of whom received a scarcely-believable ten grade 9s.

Elinor Doherty, Christopher Dutton and Anva Grieve all gained an amazing nine grade 9s. Oscar Bodey-Hey, Ben Bower, Arianna Good, Louise James, Lauren Slater and Olivia Wood picked up seven top grades, closely followed by Scarlett Bancroft, Sally Dodd, Tom Fowler, Anna Mc Donald and Amelie Proctor who all got six grade 9s. Lauren Brayshaw, Kathryn Broadhurst, Adam Case, Patrycja Kaplon, Joe McGrath, Eloise Newhouse and Lottie Price all also did exceptionally well to earn five grade 9s and Mai Beetham, Adam Coady, Max Connell, Clare Davis, Will Day, Zuza Konca, Hannah Laing and Olivia Molden all secured four top grades.
Headteacher, Mr Gwyn Williams said:“I cannot express how lovely it has been to see so many smiles on the faces of staff and students this morning after everything they have all had to put up with.
Talking about headline results makes little sense in the context of this year, but suffice to say that Lymm High students have done exceptionally well again. Results across the board are really strong and there have been some incredible individual performances. So many students have done brilliantly, including some who have had to overcome all the odds to achieve what they have done today: you all know who you are, and we are so very proud of you.
These results are the product of a strong partnership between students, parents, carers and school – a partnership that has never been needed more than over the last 18 months or so. Ultimately though, the bulk of the credit goes to the young people themselves. They have consistently displayed such good humour, resilience and determination throughout the pandemic, and to perform as well has they have done in all the various assessments despite everything is remarkable.”

Joe McGrath (pictured right) did brilliantly, receiving five nines and three eights. He will be staying on at Lymm High School in the Sixth form, as will students Bree Colclough and Holly Matthew who also achieved fantastic results.

A lot of smiles at Lymm High School this morning, particularly for Ellie Doherty (pictured right) who amazingly got all nine grades – a fantastic achievement!
Also happy with her results was Emily Crouch. She scored two nines, three eights, three sevens and a six grade and will be heading to Lymm Sixth Form in September.

Eliza Cripps (pictured left) and Rosemary Wake (right) said they were delighted and relieved to get their results. They will now be going to Lymm Sixth Form in September. Well done girls!
