Area of trading estate cordoned off following chemical leak from tanker

FIREFIGHTERS cordoned off an area of the Stretton Trading Estate this afternoon following reports of a small chemical leak involving an unknown substance.

At around 4.20pm firefighters were called to reports of a possible chemical leak at the trading estate on Grappenhall Lane, Warrington.



One fire engine from Lymm attended the scene and on arrival, they found that a small quantity of an unknown liquid had leaked from a tanker.
Firefighters liaised with specialists to establish the nature of the liquid and a small cordon was put in place as a precaution.
There is not believed to be any risk to the general public.
