LATCHFORD ran in 13 tries to beat a valiant Haydock side 76-12, consolidating their place at the top of the NWML Division One table.
With original opponents, Widnes Moorfield Tigers, calling the game off due to Covid within their camp, Albion were grateful to Haydock who stepped in at short notice to allow the fixture to be played.
Albion dominated the first half and ran in tries through Ryan Skidmore, Danny Brown, Matty Nash (2), Ben Harper (2), Alex Davies and Charlie McCurrie.

Matty Rudd was impeccable with the boot and converted all attempts.
Credit to the visitors who did cross themselves, but at half time Albion led 48 – 6.
The second half continued in the sane vein, with further tries being added by Alex Davies (2), Matty Nash (2), and the highlight came when 17 year old Robbie Harper registered his first try for the club, in only his second open age appearance.
Rudd added another 3 conversions to finish his afternoon with a 100 per cent success rate, and Matty Ellis also landed a conversion for the hosts.
Despite the big victory, coach Martyn Elias was respectful of the opposition and said: “What Haydock did shows great character. They put together a side in 24 hours and were willing to play us, despite a few late changes
“We still had a job to do, and we did it well. It could have been easy to deviate but they continued with the processes and stuck to the game plan which was important as we have some big fixtures upcoming , where this could possibly be the difference. “
Saturday sees Latchford travel to Hindley looking to avenge a defeat inflicted upon them last month, kick off 2.30pm.
