Fire crew tackle garden fire at Great Sankey

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a fire in the back garden of a property at Great Sankey, Warrington, yesterday afternoon.

One fire crew from Penketh was called to reports of a fire in a back garden in Great Sankey shortly after 5.20pm.



They used a hose reel jet and a stack drag to put the fire out and were at the scene for 15 minutes.
In another incident, shortly before 2.30pm one fire crew from Birchwood used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire in the open near to a car park on Winwick Street, Warrington.
The fire involved a quantity of wood chip on a grass verge.
The crew were in attendance at the scene for around 10 minutes
