DUE to being promoted summer’s non-league restructuring Warrington Rylands 1906 will not be able to defend the FA Vase which they won in May, instead they now enter the FA Trophy, where their first opponents in the second qualifying round will be Hebburn Town.

Hebburn, 2020 FA Vase winners, will visit Gorsey Lane on Saturday 9th October in a repeat of last season’s Vase quarter-final which Rylands won 1-0.

In the FA Cup Rylands have been drawn away in the preliminary round on Saturday 21st August to the winners of the Prestwich Heys v Litherland REMYCA extra preliminary round tie.
Meanwhile, Warrington Rylands visited an old rival from their Cheshire League days for their second pre-season friendly of the campaign on Saturday,
Fielding two different elevens in each half, including four trialists, Rylands dominated the game but found it difficult to break down a hard-working Garswood United team that took the lead in the 45th minute.
Rylands were back on level terms in the 68th minute through Ste Milne who slotted the ball home following a cross by Kane Drummond. Five minutes later Milne fired Rylands in front from the penalty spot.
