Man taken to hospital following collision on M6 near Lymm

A young man was taken to hospital after a car collided with the central reservation on the M6 near Lymm.

At 17:13 yesterday, Friday, three fire engines from Lymm, Warrington and Birchwood were called to reports of a collision on the M6 southbound at Lymm between junctions 19 and 20.

On arrival the crews discovered that a car had collided with the central reservation between junctions 19 and 20 and no-one was trapped inside the vehicle.
The motorway was temporarily closed by Highways England.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s medical director assessed a casualty at the scene.
The young man was subsequently taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Firefighters fended off lanes of the motorway when lanes were reopened following the collision.
All lanes were subsequently reopened.
Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.
