Firefighters rescue man trapped in railings on disused railway bridge

TWO fires crews along with an aerial platform helped rescue a man trapped in railings on a disused railway bridge on Thelwall New Road earlier today, Friday.

At around 6.30am firefighters from Lymm and Warrington were called to calls of a person trapped on a disused railway bridge in Thelwall.



Firefighters attended the scene and on arrival they found a man was trapped between metal railings at the top of the bridge.
A road closure was put in place while crews secured the man who was then brought down to safety using an aerial platform.
The man was then passed to the care of paramedics.
Firefighters were in attendance at the incident for around 90 minutes.
