Officers receive commendations for life-saving CPR on 37-year-old man who collapsed in street

FOUR Warrington police officers have received special commendations for life-saving CPR they gave to a 37-year-old man who collapsed in the street,

The Officers have each been awarded NWAS (North West Ambulance Service) Commendations for life-saving CPR they gave to the 37-year-old male who collapsed in the street in Runcorn.



The male had stopped breathing and officers gave CPR whilst a defibrillator was collected from the local custody suite and brought to the scene.
Defibrillator shocks were given and with the attendance of an Ambulance and an off-duty nurse the male was stabilized and taken to Hospital.
The male has since been discharged from Hospital.
PCs Meakin, Rowley, Bowen and Evans were each presented with their commendations on behalf of the ambulance service by Chief Inspector Neil Drum.
